Children's Services: Elsie May Colvin Children's Corner

Story-Hour is open to all pre-schoolers each Friday from 11 am 12 pm. No registration is necessary. The library also offers a summer reading program. Please call the library at the end of the school year to inquire about starting dates. The children's collection contains fiction, non-fiction, audio books on CD and DVD, games on CD and BIG books! There is a children's computer available for playing of games on CD and two portable DVD players for watching audio books on DVD.


Robert C. Baker Technology Room

The library has 10 desktop and 5 laptop computers available for public use. These computers have internet and Microsoft Office programs installed on them. A wireless network is also available for those that want to use their own laptops.


Pennsylvania Room Collection

Local history and some family genealogies are available for use in the library.

Microfilm

The Bedford County Press / Everett Press is available from 1868 to 1982. There are some years missing in the early 1900's. The Bedford Gazette is available from 1982 to the present. Bedford County Census records are also available on microfilm. The reader/printer makes copies of microfilm pages for $0.25.


Copier / Fax

Black and white copies are $0.25 each. Color copying is also available. The cost for this is $1.00 per page. To send a fax, the cost is $2.00 for the first page and $.50 for each additional page. To receive a fax, the cost is $1.00 the first page, and $0.50 for each additional page. Our fax number is: (814) 652 5425.

Newspapers / Magazines

Periodicals may be checked out for 4 weeks. Besides our print selection, you may want to look into ACCESS PA. ACCESS PA offers thousands of full-text periodicals that you can search by subject, keyword or magazine title. Pictures and graphics are also included. If you are a library patron, you may also use ACCESS PA from another computer by clicking on the ACCESS PA button on the library's home page. Ask a library worker about a password.
